Autumnal Inspiration by Moomooi

As the city transitions to autumn, our own Tea in the Window display on West Georgia Street has been transformed with a new seasonal backdrop created by NYC artist Meredith Wing of Moomooi. Following the success of her cherry blossom illustration, Wing’s latest design captures the essence of fall, enveloping tea-goers and passersby in vibrant shades of orange and red. Her artwork brings the rich colors of the season to life, offering a captivating visual experience that celebrates autumn’s arrival.

Fall Foliage meets Luxury Looks
Bringing high fashion to the forefront, Wing’s original ‘tea ladies’ are dressed in outfits inspired by two looks from St. John Boutique’s current FW 2024 collection. Rich tweeds and knits in burnt rust and mossy green are accentuated by skirts made from leaves. The lovely ladies sit and enjoy tea against the autumn backdrop, “Fairmont in the Fall”. Tea in the Window wraps up for the year on September 27 , so don’t miss out on this unique experience.

FALL FASHION TIPS FROM MOOMOOI

A fashionista in her own right, Meredith shares her top tips for practical styling in the fall:

What is your must-have fall item?

This fall I wanted a camel-hued car coat – something lighter than a wool trench and heavier than a sweater. Transition dressing is tough in the northeast USA where the weather can change 20 degrees from morning to late afternoon or even hour by hour – similar to Vancouver I think. Layering is key, and doing this in neutrals is my go-to strategy. The St. John Nappa Leather slip on boots from the Foundation Collection is the next on my list for fall staples. Sleek and elevated investment pieces is the goal.

Any tips for looking stylish in the rain?

A classic trench and rain boots that don’t necessarily look like rainboots!  I’ve seen some heeled versions of rubber boots that I think make grey weather a little more fun and playful. I am also a big fan of beautiful umbrellas. Not always practical when on the go and you need to stash something small in a purse, but when outings allow for them, they’re definitely a sleek accessory.

REIMAGINED CLASSICS:
STYLING INSPIRATION FROM ST. JOHN

Located on the lobby floor of Fairmont Hotel Vancouver, St. John is renowned for its sophisticated style and timeless design, offering impeccably tailored silhouettes that accentuate the female figure. For St. John’s Fall 2024 Collection, the design team honors the brand’s sartorial history by breathing new life into iconic styles, most excitingly their signature sets and suiting.

CONFIDENT TAILORING

Designed for women of all ages, we focus on impeccably tailored silhouettes that accentuate the figure. Fall’s polished looks are prime for the office and more formal gatherings, yet wear well as strong separates too. What’s masculine is feminine in minimalist-yet-glamorous 1990s-inspired pairings, featuring design details that honor St. John’s knitwear heritage.

TIMELESS KNITS

The Fall 2024 Collection celebrates Marie Gray’s love of edging details by introducing mixed media touches like ropes, fringe, and contrast-colored hems. From elegant neutrals to vibrant jewel tones, our tweeds present with eternal polish.

DETAILED EMBELLISHMENTS

This season, tinsel brings a bit of sparkle to Lurex eyelash tweeds, as the shimmery knits becomes de rigueur for day and night. With vintage St. John jewelry completing each styled look, we see what’s old is new and better than ever.
